History In The Making

The Cape Ann Platform Tennis Association was founded in 1961 in Annisquam, a small village and part of the City of Gloucester, Massachusetts by a small group of residents familiar with the sport looking for something to do in the long cold winters of New England.

Two wooden courts and a small hut were erected over the course of two years. This initial development was funded by these same residents.
